Loquendo TTS Director is a software authoring tool designed for use by application designers in adding voice output to their software or application to make it accessible to individuals who are blind or have low vision, or have learning disabilities. This multi-platform Java development tool helps the application developer to write vocal messages for applications and to add voice output using any kind of text. The developer may change the voice, adjust the reading mode, and modify acoustic and prosodic parameters such as sampling frequency and coding, pitch, speaking rate, and volume. The edited message can be saved in text and/or audio formats. The program has a repertoire of pre-recorded, expressive phrases and exclamations, including greetings and apologies ("Hello!", "I'm sorry!"), interjections ("You're joking!", "That's amazing!"), and paralinguistic events such as breathing, coughing, or laughter. Plug-in lexicons can be used to read abbreviations, symbols, and idiosyncratic text such as SMS or e-mail. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible personal computers (PC) running Windows or Linux computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Any Pentium processor or equivalent; MS Windows (XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, 4, 5 and Suse Linux 10 operating system.
